Mary Ilene Vassallo (Fosco), 87, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed peacefully into the hands of God on July 26th, 2015, with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 28, 1927 in Sandusky, Ohio. She married the late Anthony Joseph Vassallo on September 19th, 1946. Mary touched many lives over the years with her laughter, love and independent spirit. She will be missed dearly by all who held the gift of knowing her. She is survived by her children: Jim Vassallo (daughter-in-law, Lori Vassallo) of Phoenix, Arizona; Dave Vassallo of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Meg Barnes (son-in-law, Dave Barnes) of Mesa, Arizona. She is also survived by her granddaughter Breigh Vassallo of Bayview, Idaho; grandsons Greg Richter of Attica, Ohio; Kevin Richter of Clyde, Ohio; David Barnes Jr. and Bobby Barnes of Queen Creek, Arizona and great-grandchildren Cameron Day, Lauren Richter, Masen Barnes and Madison Barnes, David Barnes III, as well as her siblings Jim Fosco of Sandusky, Ohio; Nancy Irwin of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Tracy Jordon of La Quinta, California; including her niece, Marsha Cotton and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Don Fosco and her sister Janet Cunningham. We love you and will be seeing you again Grandma.
