Mary I. Hinson, age 82 of Midland died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home.
The daughter of the late Cletys and Elizabeth (Lambie) Martin was born March 22, 1930 in Flint moving to Midland when Mary was a baby.
Mary graduated from Midland High School in 1947 and attended Central Michigan University. She graduated from Mercy Central School of Nursing, St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. Mary worked as an RN for the Dow Chemical Company for 34 years, retiring in 1985 and did private duty nursing in the Midland area.
She was a member of Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church and the Onaway United Methodist Church where she spent summers on Black Lake then wintered in Mesa, Arizona. She was a life member of the former Midland OES #121.
Mrs. Hinson is survived by her husband of 59 years, John, whom she married in Midland on March 21, 1953; sons, James Hinson of Houston, TX, David Hinson of Midland; daughter, Laura (William) Morgan of Houston, Texas; daughter in law, Cheryl Hinson of Midland; Grandchildren, Ben, Philip, Matt, Quin and Abby Hinson and Josh Sprague; Great grandchildren, Connor Hinson, Emily Sprague, Alexis Sprague and Keaton Olson; and brother, Francis (Betty) Martin of Midland.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased this past March by her son, Kent.
