Mary Helen Jensen Boise, ID died November 30, 2014.  She was born January 28, 1923 in Boise, Idaho to John A. and Mary Kinney McMenamin, the first of five daughters.  She attended Whittier grade school, Central grade school, Boise J. High (North), and Boise High School.  Mary married Neils F. (Dunnie) Jensen Jr. in 1941.  While he served with 116th Combat Engineers in the South Pacific during WW2, she worked in the Finance Office at Gowen Field.  They made their home in Boise where they raised their two children, Karen and Steven.  Mary and Dunnie enjoyed camping and fishing throughout Idaho, the Owyhee Reservoir, and on the Oregon Coast.  Mary worked at AAA World Travel Agency for 17 years.  She had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States including the two new states at that time, Alaska and Hawaii.  She also toured Mexico several times and Europe bringing back mementos for her family.  After her retirement, she volunteered at the YWCA, East End Neighborhood Association, and the Alzheimer’s Association, serving on their Boards of Directors as an officer.  Mary was a voracious reader.  After developing Macular Degeneration, she enjoyed large type print books from Readers Digest, the public library, and continued with books on tape from the State Library when she wasn’t able to read any longer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Steven, great-granddaughter Camille, and sisters, Eyleen Leaming and Patricia Dukleth.  Mary is survived by daughter, Karen J. Kerns; daughter-in-law, Lynn D. Jensen; four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren: Shaun (Jessica) Jensen, and children Luke, Chase, Cole of Meridian; Melissa (Cory) Freese, and children Collin, Corban, Caitlyn of Meridian; Leah (Spencer) McLean, and children Amelia, Charlotte, Preston of Boise; Shanna (Cory) McKnight, and daughters Macy, Alexandra, of San Diego, CA; sisters, Bernice Davis of Emmett and Jacqueline Early of Annandale, VA; brother-in-law James (Joanne) Jensen of Melba; and many nieces and nephews of the Dukleth, Early, Gilbert, and Jensen families.  Mary never forgot to send a birthday card.  She loved her family very much and Grandma Tutu will be greatly missed.
