Mary Helen O’Neil (Torres), age 73, a resident of Albuquerque NM, passed away on November 16, 2016 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born and raised in Las Cruces, NM. Mary was a fun, loving, generous person with an easy laugh and cheerful, warm personality.
Mary is survived and will be dearly missed by the following immediate family members: sister, Tenaya Torres-Tellez of Albuquerque, NM; Henry O’Neil, Mary’s husband of 51 years of Albuquerque, NM; three sons, Anthony O’Neil of Oak Hills, CA, Sean O’Neil of Encinitas, CA and Bryan O’Neil of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in New Mexico and California. Her loving and loyal companion Curley, who adored her, will miss Mary.
Mary was a graduate of Las Cruces High School “GO Bulldogs” and was Homecoming Princess of her Class as well as a Majorette, Mary twirled a ‘mean’ FIRE baton. She went on to work in three distinct careers, the first as Mother, in child bearing and rearing, second in banking and third in the grocery industry, finally retiring in 2003.
