Mary Glynn Walters, born April 1, 1938 in Montgomery County, Kilmichael Mississippi, passed away Sunday January 5, 2020 in Indianapolis Indiana. Born Mary Glynn Lott, she was preceded in death by husband Reverend Jon Belton Walters, parents Yancy Marion Lott Sr., Glynn Alene Townsend Lott, and older brother Robert Townsend Lott, MD.

Mrs. Walters attended Montgomery County schools in Kilmichael Mississippi. Mrs. Walters attended Millsaps College in Jackson Mississippi, Tulane School of Social Work in New Orleans Louisiana, and Indiana University School of Social Work in Bloomington Indiana.
A school social worker, Mrs. Walters served twenty-five years with the Monroe County Community School Corporation in Bloomington Indiana. She retired to the Alaska United Methodist Conference in Kenai, Alaska with Reverend Walters. They returned to their home state of Mississippi where they resided at the Mississippi United Methodist Choctaw Mission in Philadelphia. Following the death of Reverend Walters in 2011 Mrs. Walters relocated to Indianapolis Indiana. Her passion was helping children and families in need.

Mrs. Walters, beloved wife of fifty years to Reverend Jon Belton Walters of Simpson County Mississippi, will be missed by her children, Allyson, Summer, Jay, spouses Philippe, Ellen and Bryan, and adored grandchildren, Emily, Marc, Townsend, Jackson, Aidan, Sean, and Glynna. Mrs. Walters is survived by older brothers Yancy Marion Lott Jr.
