Mary Gay Marks, 81, of N. 24th Street, Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010 in the United Hospital Center surrounded by her family. Mrs. Marks was born in Clarksburg on September 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Mazza Romano. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Lewis Marks, whom she married on May 3, 1947. Also surviving are three children, Carol Anderson and her husband Richard, Bridgeport, John Lewis Marks, Jr. and his wife Linda, Salem, and Tina Yankosky and her husband Dwight, Bridgeport; seven grandchildren, Chris Anderson and his wife Leigh, John Anderson and his wife Allison, Wendy Riffle and her husband Terry, Sam Marks and his wife Stephanie, Scott Marks, Alyssa Yankosky and Kristin Yankosky; five great grandchildren, Evan, Emily, Mallory, Lydia and Owen Anderson; one brother, Carmen Romano and his wife Mary Ann, Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Faye Marks of Summit Park; one infant granddaughter, Ashley Yankosky; one brother-in-law, Robert Marks; and one sister-in-law, Betty Beto. Mrs. Marks was a 1946 graduate of Victory High School, where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class, and was a lifelong member of the St. James Catholic Church. Mary Gay was a beautiful person and a wonderful mother. She was good to everybody and would do anything for anyone. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
