It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Garcia. She was born to a pioneer family, Domingo Torres Garcia and Francisca Pinones Garcia on February 11, 1947, in La Luz, New Mexico. She lived her entire life in La Luz, and in everything she did, she shared her joy and passion for life with everyone. On December 6, 2022, she left this earth to reunite with her Heavenly Father and her departed family members.
Many thanks are due to all of her family for their immeasurable love and support for Mary that went beyond what most family members could provide. Also, many thanks and appreciation are due to Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice staff, they gave Mary the care, love and respect she needed and went the extra mile for her.
Mary was blessed with a large, loving family and cherished being a mother to her son Lawrence Sr. and her daughter-in-law Regina, and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of her passions included camping, hunting, and fishing with her family. She was a second mother to all her nieces and nephews. Mary was a bright, shining star in our family and her guiding light will shine forever in our hearts. We will truly miss her.
Mary had one son, Lawrence and his wife, Regina; her grandchildren: Jessica Villareal and her husband, Omar and their children, Omar, Jr, and Ovian; Nichole Garcia (deceased) and her child, Arianna Sanchez-Garcia; Cindi Garcia and Jana Garcia and their children, IsaDora, Journee and Priscilla; Lawrence “Gilbert” Garcia Jr. and his son, Carmine; her God children, Adrian Salgado, Arianna Sanchez, Christopher Garcia, and Nichole Garcia; her living siblings, Domingo Garcia, Jr. and his wife Rosanne, Pete Garcia and his wife Rosie of Alamogordo, and Manuelita Garcia Salgado and Joe Quintana; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Francisca Garcia; her grandparents, Cipriano Rodela Garcia and Manuelita Torres Garcia, Gabriel Pinones, Luz Guerra Pinones Martinez; her siblings, Antonio Garcia, Celia Garcia Gutierrez, Gabriel Garcia, Ramon Garcia, Eloisa Garcia, Reynaldo Garcia, Priscilla Garcia Buhrman, Samuel Garcia, Florencio Garcia, and Gilbert Garcia; and her granddaughter, Nichole Garcia.
