Mary Frances McElroy Beecraft, 89, of Jacksonville, died early Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Prairie Village Health Care Center.
She was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Charles and Edna Hobbs Barnard.
She is survived by two daughters and one son, Ellen Irene Copley and Carol Fisher, both of Jacksonville, and Harold McElroy of Greenfield; two granddaughters, Debra (husband, Fred) Thomas of Jacksonville and Carla Fabrique of Decatur; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lloyd McElroy and James Jackson; and one brother, Robert Barnard.
Mary worked for many years at the Jacksonville State Hospital. She was a former member of Athensville Baptist Church and a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play bingo.
