Born January 13, 1936 in New York City, daughter of Hubert and Violet Havlik, Mary grew up in Washington, DC and Paris, France. Mary attended Goucher College in Baltimore, MD before marrying Cornelius Webster Abbott III in 1957. Mary was a great cook, nature lover and avid reader, well known in the family for clipping articles of interest from the newspaper and mailing them to her children and grandchildren.
