Mary Fradianni Whipple, 83, of Newington, died peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Born in Rocky Hill, daughter of the late Salvatore and Carmela (Quatrale) Fradianni, she was a Newington resident since 1967. She attended St. Patrick School, and graduated from Weaver High School as a member of the National Honor Society in the class of 1946. Mrs. Whipple was employed by SNET and G. Fox & Co., Hartford, for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Newington, a CCD instructor, and was a longtime volunteer at Jefferson House. She shared her love of reading with Elizabeth Green students as a volunteer for many years. She read “everything”. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt, she leaves four children, Karen Thomas and her husband Harvey of Westford, MA, Sally Paula Whipple and William P. Kelly of Colchester, Nelson Whipple and his wife Maia Rigas of Chicago, IL, and Dorcas Gorski and her husband Steven of Newington; four grandchildren Laura and Mike Thomas, and Samantha and Marc Gorski. She also leaves two brothers Angelo Fradianni of West Hartford, and Joseph Fradianni and his wife Geraldine of Vernon; and eight nieces and nephews: Jeanne, Richard, Frank, John, Michael, Steven and Joseph Fradianni and Lisa Hunter; and several grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Frank Fradianni.
