On Tuesday, the night of July 19, 2022, the Lord sent His most trusted angels on a mission. The mission was to go down to the hospital and rescue one of His children. Those angels carried Mary Peterman to her eternal home for rest.
Mary was the first born of the late Logie and Maebell Thomas. She was born in a little town called Edwin, Alabama. Her siblings nicknamed her Carolina. Around the same time in her life, she joined Friendship Baptist Church and later joined St. Michael AME Church, in her hometown of Clopton. After attending the Henry County Training School, Mary went on her journey of life, she exercised her right to marry once and motherhood six times.
Mary found picking peas and fishing more like a hobby, which she had done both very well.
Mary was preceded in death by; her husband: Lonnie C. Peterman; one sister: Cassie Anglin; five brothers: Charlie Thomas, Rodell Thomas, Logie Thomas, and James Thomas.
Although Mary’s journey has ended, her legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of her family and friends she left behind. Those memories will be cherished by her; two daughters: Mary J Thomas of Clopton, Alabama and Shirley Thomas of Lakeland Florida; four sons: James Jackson, Jerry Jackson both of Clopton, Alabama, Ronnie Jackson of Dothan Alabama, and Sedrick Jackson Youngtown, Ohio; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; four siblings: Ida Taylor, Billy Thomas, Marion Thomas all of Edwin, Alabama, and Ella (Ronald) Washington of Miami Gardens, Florida; two sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Thomas of Ozark, Alabama and Debra Thomas of Trenton, New Jersey; a special niece she called her second mother: Cindy; a host of other family and friends. She will be missed.
