Mrs. Mary Emily Ellis, age 92, of Opelika, formerly a longtime resident of Valley, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Arbor Springs Health and Rehabilitation in Opelika, Alabama.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Chambers County, Alabama on August 20, 1923 to the late Allen B. Earnest and Mary Fincher Earnest.
She is survived by her daughter, Emily Vayda Mullis, Opelika; son, Andrew Joel (Tesa) Ellis, Ridgecrest, California; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Oliver Ellis; sisters, Mildred Earnest and Martha Borders; brothers, Carl Earnest and Dorsey Earnest; grandson, John Vayda, V.
Mrs. Ellis was born and raised in the Fairfax Community. She was a very active member of the Fairfax United Methodist Church.
