Mary Elliott Carter, 86, formerly of 154 Kentuck Rd, Danville, VA died Monday, February 15, 2010 in Golden Living Center, Martinsville, VA. Born July 2, 1923 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late William G. Elliott and the late Cora Buchanan Elliott. She was formerly employed as a clerical secretary in the Division of Motor Vehicles in Baltimore, MD. She was a member of The Tabernacle and was married to Frank Edward Carter, who preceded her in death October 24, 1977. Mrs. Carter is survived by her daughter, Jane Marie McCaslin and husband, Myron McCaslin, Jr. of Linthicum, MD, her brother, David Elliott of Hampton, VA, two grandchildren, Michael McCaslin of Bethlehem, PA and Christopher McCaslin of Linthicum, MD, and three great-grandchildren, Shane McCaslin and Victoria McCaslin, both of Bethlehem, PA and Ashley McCaslin of Linthicum, MD. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Carter was predeceased by two sisters, Naomi Tate Hudson and Gladys Burns and four brothers, Paul Elliott, John B. Elliott, William G. Elliott, Jr. and Daniel Elliott.
