Mary Ellen Nutter Barnes, 85, of Ellenboro, formerly of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2010 in the Arbors Nursing Home in Marietta, OH. Mrs. Barnes was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School and was bartender for the Clarksburg Aerie No. 2353 Fraternal Order of Eagles for 25 years. She was born in Clarksburg on July 23, 1924, a daughter of the late Jaspar Elsie and Stella Marie Nutter. She is survived by two daughters, Belle Marie Stout and her husband Larry, Ellenboro, and Jo Donna Burdoff, Fairmont; three grandchildren, Wayne Allen Stout, Ellenboro, Lisa Anne Howell, Harrisville, and James Burdoff, Fairmont; three great grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence K. Nutter and his wife Carolyn, Bristol. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Edward Jason Stout; and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Clarksburg Lodge No. 52 Loyal Order of the Moose and the Salem Baptist Church.
