Mrs. Mary Ellen Buford Coleman was born April 15, 1924, to the late Will and Lila Buford. She departed life to enter into eternal rest on March 13, 2012 at Decatur General Hospital. She devoted her life to God at a very early age. Later, she joined Solomon Temple Full Gospel Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s Ministry and was a faithful member. After working 30 years as a dietitian specialist, she retired from Decatur General Hospital.
Her husband, Herman Coleman Sr., preceded her in death.
Her loving memory will always be cherished by her three children, Herman Coleman Jr. (Doris), Gwendolyn Coleman Trammell and Glenn Dewayne Coleman, all of Decatur; one sister, Elizabeth Fletcher of Madison; one brother, Percy Lee Buford of Decatur; three sisters-in-law, Ruby Jackson, Gracie Lee Jenkins and Bertha Mae Coleman; and one brother-in-law, Minister Ralph Coleman , all of Athens.
Her great memory will also be treasured by her eight grandchildren; one devoted grandchild, Rodney Coleman; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
