Mary Elizabeth Sherrill, 41, of Statesville, ran into the arms of Jesus, on Friday, June 2, 2017 following an extended illness.
She was born on December 15, 1975 to her loving parents, Maurice and Jane Sherrill.
From birth, Beth was special. She was born with Spina Bifida, rendering her unable to walk, among many other complications. Her condition led to many sicknesses and many hospital stays, but never ever broke her spirit. She embraced her handicap, and was always concerned about others. She was a great inspiration to many and a blessing to those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Howard Sherrill, on Nov. 4, 2016.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Jane Ireland Sherrill, whom she loved like no other, and by whom she was cared for throughout her life. Although confined to a wheelchair, Beth never allowed physical restraints to encumber her spirit or to curb her vivid imagination. Without benefit of medical school, Beth considered herself a psychiatrist ready to help anyone touched by sadness or stress. She treasured her medical books which her mother enjoyed reading to her. Dr. Beth will be missed. Beth especially enjoyed watching The Ellen Show because Ellen helped so many people.
Beth was also survived by two brothers, Klaus Wustrow of Statesville, David Sherrill of Statesville, a nephew Killian Wustrow of Siler City, a niece, Karleigh Sherrill of Statesville, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins all of whom she loved. She will also be lovingly remembered by her special friend Jamie Jordan.
