Mary Elizabeth Andrews, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022, at Banner Gateway Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona.
Mary was born Mary Elizabeth Horan to parents Elizabeth and Charles on November 14, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky State Teacher’s College in 1953.
Mary and her family moved to Arizona in 1979. After retiring from teaching, she continued to be involved in the community throughout the years working with several non-profit and educational endeavors, as a member of Valley Presbyterian Church and then Mountain View Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon and served in the Stephen Ministries. Mary was active on the board of her HOA, participated in the Mesa Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy, and for the last several years as a volunteer at Banner Baywood and Banner Gateway Hospitals. She found her joy is serving others.
Mary was much loved and is survived by her children, Karen Trees, Donald Andrews Jr. (Day), Kim Wills (Ron), and Susan Rehm (Robert), half-brother Joe Horan (Karen), 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Donald Andrews Sr., and Don Mason.
