Mary Eleanor Kirkpatrick Zook, 86, passed away in the early morning hours of the first day of spring after a courageous fight.

She was born November 23, 1924, in Muncie, Indiana, and resided in Anderson since 1949. Mrs. Zook received her undergrad and Master’s Degree in Education, Art & Music from Ball State Teacher’s College. She was an Art teacher for Alexandria School Corporation for grades K-12 and was a devoted homemaker and friend. She was a member of the Early Americana Antique Study Group, China Painters Guild, and the Hat Pin Guild. and Lambert’s Music Friends for Life club. She enjoyed playing the organ, china painting, making sailor’s valentines, and many other crafts. She made and collected kaleidoscopes, and collected antique hatpins. She was an outstanding cook, loved taking care of her family and grandchildren, decorating her home fit for Better Homes and Gardens, and loved entertaining with style.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert L. Zook; daughter, Cheryl Farrell & husband Jeff of Anderson; grandchildren, Eric and Elysa Farrell of Anderson; and many special friends.
