On April 17, 2021, Mary Elaine Walls, also known as “Marlaine,” at age 62, transitioned from this life. Mary attended DC public schools and graduated from the Job Corps in West Virginia. Mary was a hard worker, a quick learner, and succeeded expeditiously working at law firms as secretary, word processor, IT specialist, and in various other positions. Her last employment was with Arnold & Porter as the Business Resource Department Coordinator.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth V. and William C. Walls; four brothers, Michael Walls (Anna), Riley Walls (Diane), William Walls, David Lee Walls, and two sisters Alice Miles (Gary) and Martha Walls. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: six sisters, Iva Walls, Gwendolyn Morris (Charles), Barbara Ann Gray (Michael), Charity “Jackie” McGee, Ruth Dixon (Bennie), and Alicia Walls; one brother Timothy Walls; sister-in-law Diane Bailey Walls; eleven nieces, Donna, Raylene, Crystal, Robin, Julina, Karen, Anita “Tweety,” Erika, Ashley, Waynicca, Ruth; ten nephews, Michael, Riley, Charles (“CJ”), Gary, David, Da’Juan, Kenneth, Douglass, DeLonte, De’Andre, a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, her in-laws⎯the Harveys, church family, friends, and special long-time friends, Sherry Carmicha, Dana Cox, LaTisha Brown and Dianne Hampton.
