Mrs. Mary E. Skirmont Benkoski, age 96, a longtime Milford resident for over 60 years, beloved wife of the late Alexander R. Benkoski, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, which was her 75th Wedding Anniversary.
Daughter of the late Alexander and Sophia Pavlano Skirmont Minko , she was born July 4, 1913 in Logan, West Virginia. Mary worked for Bridgeport Metal Goods Company for 25 years, before her retirement.
Survivors include her devoted son, Ronald Benkoski of Milford, four loving grandchildren Ronald P. Benkoski of Milford, Sandra Wemple and her husband Robert of Hendersenville,TN; Jane Sleeper and her husband Breece of Biddeford,Maine and Tricia Bezanson and her husband Mark of Frenchtown,New Jersey; four cherished great-grandchildren Jeremy and Kaitlin Wemple and Breece and India Sleeper. She is also survived by three sisters Reverend Anne Scirmont of NY, Sonia Delina of Ft. Worth, TX, and Genevieve Sakovich of Long Island,NY, a special dear friend of the family Jerry Brennan, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Joseph Michael Benkoski, a brother Anthony Skirmont, and three sisters Zena Rogozin, Helen Zubritski and Olga Bronson.
