Diann Phillips (Padgett) 1947-2015
Diann was born in Crestview, FL, on May 3, 1947, the oldest child of Dan and Doris Padgett of Niceville, FL, both deceased. She died on Monday, April 6th of liver failure. If asked what was most important in her life she would have no problem in telling you it was her God, Jehovah. Being a Jehovah’s Witness was her identity and helped her to be a better wife, mother, and person. She was one of the descendants of the original “Boggy Folks.” She would tell you how they celebrated the first stop light in Niceville and how her Dad’s family signed the document to change the name of the town to Niceville.
Diann is survived by her husband and rock Ralph Phillips, enjoying 44 years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Michelle Kelleher (Tony) of Chenoa, IL, Tina Phillips of Normal, IL, 4 grandchildren Derek Keist (Leanna) of Normal, IL, Sean Phillips of Niceville, FL, Steven and Emily Kelleher of Chenoa, IL, brother, Dana Padgett (Gilda) of Brewton, AL, and 2 nephews Daniel and Jeremy Padgett of Brewton, AL.
She loved being back where she belonged among friends and family in Niceville; it was where she was happiest among God’s creations. Her love of cats was well known and she honestly spoke their language. She never met one she didn’t love.
