After a fruitful life of  99 years, Mary Demyan passed, following a lengthy illness.

Born to  John Sr. and Susanna Roody and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, Pa, she lived in Maryland since the mid 1950’s.

Mary earned two Masters degrees from Penn State University, one in Dietetics and another in Education.  During the war years she did her share for the effort by working at Kodak developing film that was used for recconnaisance missions.  When peace was declared she turned her attentions back towards her education and began work at the Mayo Clinic.  Later she would apply her knowledge of education by teaching at Andover High School and finally substitute teaching at Glen Burnie High, where she was known affectionately as “Granny Reebok,” for her choice in footware.  Mary ultimately retired in the late 80’s.  She enjoyed cooking and was said to be a devoted family woman.

Mary is survived by her nephews Alex and wife Mary, Micheal and spouse Mary and Jack and his wife Bonnie, Joseph Mazur and his wife Betty, Alex III and his spouse Melissa and Gregory Goodridge. She leaves her nieces  Barbara Goodridge and Susan Muchanic and husband Thomas.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Ann Goodridge and Helen Mazur and John, Michael and Alex Demyan.
