Mary D. Kacar, 91, of Bethlehem, died peacefully Monday, September 7, 2009, at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late John T. Kacar who died on 9/9/05. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Monica Sofranek. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Ursula’s Catholic Church, where she was very active in the church choir. She was also a member of the Ladies Slovak Catholic Union. Survivors: she will be lovingly remembered by daughters Janice Shapple of Bethlehem and Nancy Young of Glenside; sons David Kacar and his wife Marybeth of Dunkirk, Md. and Jack Kasar and his companion Sandra Meyer of Clark Summit; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings John, Steven, Frank, Helen, Monica and Gus.
