She was born December 2, 1927, to Walter Franklin Cresswell and Charlotte Cresswell Truitt. She lived in the Collinsville area for 29 years prior to moving to Carriere in 1998. Mrs. Luke was co-owner of America’s First Tours and Secretary/Treasurer of J.I. Luke Enterprises. Mary was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Picayune, MS. She served as Lauderdale County Information Coordinator for the 60 Plus Program. Mary was a member of Suqualena Chapter No. 327, Order Eastern Star. She was a member of the Pearl River County Arts League. She loved to paint and exhibited her paintings several times a year. Mary enjoyed playing cards with her canasta group. She was a member of the Pearl River County Pearls Red Hat Club, the Newcomers Club, the Trinity Trotters, and the Dell Moffett was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Franklin Cresswell and Charlotte Welch Truitt; her husband, James Irvin Luke, Sr; her daughter, Debbie Luke Poole; her sisters, Charlotte Cresswell Winborn and Peggy Anne Mask; and her brothers, William Eph Cresswell and Frank to cherish her memory are her son, Jim and his wife Karen, of Carriere, MS; 4 grandchildren, Chanda Luke Butler (Rickey) of Cedar Hill, TX, Lauren Luke of Carriere, MS, Ben Poole of Greenville, SC, and Andy Poole (Carrie) of Easley, SC; 2 great grandchildren, Rickey and Rylan Butler; and her brother, James Lamar family is especially thankful and appreciative for Mary’s longtime friend and personal caregiver, Gloria Coleman; and her other caregivers, Vickie Smith, Kim Hamilton, and Martha
