DURHAM Mary Crawford Overman, age 95, passed away at Wake Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a Durham native where she lived most of her life. Mrs. Overman was the daughter of the late Fletcher Right Crawford and Eliza Ellis and the widow of Lee Roy Overman. She worked as a doctor’s assistant at McPherson, Duke, and Watts hospitals. She was a longtime member of Angier Avenue Baptist Church where she served as a WMU member and taught GA’s, YWA’s, and Sunday school. She loved children and working in the nursery.
She is survived by daughter, Lee Ann Andrews (husband James) of Cary; grandson, Gary Long (wife Ginger); granddaughter, Jaime Andrews, (husband Tim Fisher); and great-grandson, Joshua Aaron Long. Mrs. Overman is the last surviving member of her siblings.
