Mary Correa Alvarez, 94, a longtime resident of Deming entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mary was born July 5, 1927 to Refugio and Virginia (Guerra) Correa in Globe, AZ. She was a dedicated member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and was voted St. Ann’s “Abuelita of the Year”. She was also very devoted to the “Sacred Heart” for over 40 years. Her generosity and kindness were traits of her years of service to the Lord. Mary celebrated her 94th birthday in July with 5 generations of the family present. She was also a very competitive card player. As the only child, Mary left a proud legacy of 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her. The family would like to thank Virginia Mast who was a dear friend and like a daughter to Mary.

She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Belisario Alvarez; a son, Henry James (Catherine) Estrada of Los Lunas, NM; 4 daughters, Dolores (George) Estrada – Noble of Port Huron, MI, Alexandra (Sam) Vigil of Deming, Henrietta E. Correa of Albuquerque and Dominique Rose Alvarez of Deming; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Virginia Estrada; and her step-father, Guadalupe Villalobos.
