Mary Catherine lrby was born on June 30, 1950 to the Late Lonnie Johnson and Christine Johnson. Mary was educated in the Choctaw County, Alabama public school system, graduated in 1968, and then furthered her education by attending Hayden Business College in Meridian, Mississippi, receiving a degree in Business Administration.
She joined Mt. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully as church secretary, Sunday school secretary, and other positions at the church. She was a member of Eastern Star, Brookins Chapter #166. Mary worked 25 years at Avery Dennison Corporation, Meridian, Mississippi. She retired in October of 2013 from Avery Dennison.

Six grandchildren: Ivory Brookshire, Meridian, Mississippi, Gabriel West, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Aria Carpenter, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marcus Irby, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tashonda Irby, Livingston, Alabama, and Lisa lrby, Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has numerous nieces and nephews that she treated as her kids, loving them as her own.
