Mary Catherine (Kathy) Hagen nee Smidt age 65 of Ellicott City, Md. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by friends on April 6, 2016 after a long battle with a coronary infection. Kathy was born on February 7, 1951 in Baltimore, Md. and married Paul Hagen on October 25, 1986 in Arbutus, Md. Except for a brief period of time that Kathy lived in Sunnyvale, Ca, she lived her entire life in or near Baltimore, Md.
She is survived by her older brothers Robert Smidt, Ft Worth, Tx, Francis Smidt Jr (Gloria), Dunnellon, Fl, and Ronald Smidt (Patricia), Baltimore, Md. She is survived by two nieces, Kelley and Kaitlyn Smidt of Ft Worth, Tx, two step-children Maj Robert Hagen (Amanda) Seoul, South Korea, and Meredith Hagen, San Antonio, Tx, two step-grandchildren, Alex Hagen and Emma Hagen both of Baltimore, Md and two dogs Ricky and Davey. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Mary Smidt and sister-in-law Maryann Smidt.
Kathy attended Western High School in Baltimore, Md and completed courses in accounting at Catonsville Community College. Kathy had numerous clerical and customer service jobs including accounting admin at Westinghouse, airline reservation agent at America West Airline and Northwest Airline, medical procedure scheduling at St.
