Mary Carnell Miller was the 5th child born to Jeff and Polly Herron Miller on August 27, 1929 in Slater, Alabama. She departed her life on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the Choctaw Health and Rehab Center where she was a resident for the past three years.
Mary met and fell in love with Charles Skyes in the late 1940’s. They were blessed with three children, Hazel Miller Spears, Toney B. Miller and Milton P. Miller.
Realizing that one cannot live alone, Mary gave her life to Christ at a young age and joined The Greater First Baptist Church here in Lisman, Alabama and remained a member until her death.
She was preceded in death by her son, Toney B. Miller; her parents, Jeff and Polly Miller; her brothers, Henry Howard Miller, Frank Miller, and Fred Miller; her sisters Ruth Miller Ruffin and Sammie Miller; two great grandchildren, Chasity Spears and Andrew Curtis Jr; and a son-in-law, Clifton Spears Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Hazel Spears; son, Milton Miller (Pamela); grandchildren, Etta Curtis (Andrew), Terry Spears, Clifton Spears Jr (Tracy)., Demothesse Spears (Carretta), Rejohnna Harrell (Barry), Quintiya Miller, and Chanti Miller; great grandchildren: Torey Ruffin, Lexis Grayson, Christian Ezell, Andrianna Ezell, India Spears, Matavion Land, Dariel Spears, and Barry Ethan Harrell II; great great grandchildren: Anilla Ruffin, Ian Doss, and Jeremiah Philon a number of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, family, friends, and all others who’ve had the opportunity to experience her love and joy.
