Mrs. Herrington, a proud member of the class of 1942, always looked back fondly on her years at Greensburg High School. She stayed in touch with her many friends of the class of ’42 for the rest of her life and enjoyed her work as an organizer of their regular high school reunions. Mrs. Herrington went on to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh in 1948 where she majored in history and loved being part of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. While at Pitt, she met the love of her life, Ted Herrington, who had recently returned as a World War II veteran. They were married at the First Methodist Church in Greensburg in 1949 and settled on Corcord Avenue in Greensburg. Mr. Herrington continued his studies at Pitt graduating from the law school in 1952. Mrs. Herrington’s life was anchored by her love of family, her love of her many dear friends, her love of Greensburg, her love of gardening and her love of sports. Mrs. Herrington was active in Greensburg civic activities all her life. She was a lifelong member of the Westmoreland Garden Club serving twice as its president.
