Mary (Chalko) Borawski, 97, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Borawski. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Wojciechowska) Chalko, she was a lifelong Newington resident and a member of St. Mary’s Church, Newington. Mary enjoyed going out to eat, especially at Yanni’s in Newington. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and cheering for them at their sporting events. Mary was known for her generosity and selflessness. Her compassionate nature and fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves her three children, Jean Post and her husband David of Long, SC, Darlene Karp of Glastonbury, and Paul Borawski and his wife Luanne of Southington, her grandchildren, Brendon Post and his wife Patricia, Garrett Post, Zachary Karp, Samantha Cassarino and her husband Alex, Ashley Yelenak and her husband Robert, PJ Borawski and his fiancée D’Ante Forschino, Ryan Borawski and his wife Ashley and Kyle Borawski, and her great grandchildren, Miranda, Kiera and Landon Post, Austin and Michael Yelenak and Julian Cassarino. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predecease by four brothers and one sister.
