Mary Beth Mathews, 66, of Fort Walton Beach, FL went home to be with our heavenly father Monday May 12, 2014. Known by many as “Sissy” and Maw-maw, she was born on January 22, 1948 in Macon, GA and was the third child for Joseph and Virginia Barranco.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister, and maw-maw, family and friends meant everything to her and it showed in every gesture she made. One of her many joys of life were when she was with her grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Ralph L. Mathews; her parents, Joseph and Virginia Barranco.
She is survived by two children: daughter, Lynn Ellis and husband Steve, along with son, Michael Mathews and Aimee Whims. She had two beloved grandchildren: Michael Mathews II, and Ashlynn Mathews of Fort Walton Beach, FL. Her surviving siblings include her sister, Beverly Filer and husband Joseph of San Antonio, TX and brothers: Joseph Barranco Jr. and wife Michele of Tallahassee, FL; and Ben Barranco of Fort Walton Beach, FL.
