Mary Bess Keeney, 77, of Finksburg died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Dove House. Born on January 13, 1940, in Little Rock Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Robert Harlin and Janice Marian Wood. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Martin Keeney, her husband of 36 years.
She was a 1958 graduate of Towson High School and a 1962 graduate of Western Maryland College with a BA degree in English. She taught 10th grade English first at Parkville Senior High School from 1962 to 1964 and then at Westminster High School from 1964 to 1966. She worked for the Carroll County Public Library as an Adult Reference Librarian and Community Information Specialist until retiring in 2000. She was a member of Patapsco United Methodist Church.
Surviving, are her twin children: Robert Douglas Miller of Windsor, VA and Jane Elizabeth Miller of Colorado Springs, CO; Brother: Robert H. Wood of Little Rock, AR; Stepchildren: Kenneth Steven Keeney and wife Cindy of New Windsor, Gregory Allen Keeney of Taneytown, and Timothy Ray Keeney and wife Diane of Westminster.
She was predeceased by step-son Stanley Wayne Keeney in 2008.
