Mary Belle Crossman, 94, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Pike County, MO, and grew up in Virginia. She was the daughter of Lewis F. and Hazel Lenore Turner Brunk. She married Kyle Crossman on Apr. 12, 1975, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Louise Hogan of Savannah, GA; four sons, Allan (Nora) Barber of Virginia, David (Sue) Barber of Jacksonville, Marlin (Carey) Barber of Sherman, and Wayne (Barb) Barber of Franklin; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, John (Legora) Brunk and Ralph (Velma) Brunk, both of Virginia; and one step-daughter, Joyce Ann (Jessie) Cano of Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a step-son, Gerald Dean Crossman; two grandsons, Rob and Ron Crossman; and two sisters, Dorothy May Brunk in infancy, and Frances Rogers.

Mrs. Crossman was a 1943 graduate of Virginia High School. She had been an active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She had been a 4-H leader and enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk, I Love Lucy, and Dallas. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, watching hummingbirds, and flower gardening. She also enjoyed going to the rodeo, country music, and training her white shepherds for farm work. She is also survived by her dog, Lula Belle.
