At the age of 98 Mary Bausserman Sprouse died peacefully at the Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home in Stratford. Mary was born in Fisher’s Hill, Virginia March 12, 1917, the daughter of Omer and Kate Bausserman. She grew up in Fisher’s Hill and Alexandria, Virginia where she met and married Lawrence H. Sprouse, a marriage that lasted 59 years until his death. They moved from Virginia to Providence, Rhode Island before settling in Fairfield in 1954, then to Easton. Mary worked as an administrative assistant for the Westport school system before retiring in 1980.
