She was born on January 13, 1955, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Orville and Marilyn (Miller) Banks. She was raised in the United States and in Germany. The family returned to Nebraska and she graduated from O’Neill High School in 1973. She earned her CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) at Casper Junior College in Casper, WY. She was employed in Wyoming and Nebraska. Later, she began her career in the hospitality business which took her Bloomington, IN. Mary managed Four Winds Resort and Marina. Nearly nine years ago, Mary returned to Nebraska and resided in Norfolk. She was employed at the Hampton Inn in Norfolk prior to her illness.
Mary was a former member of the Chamber of Commerce in O’Neill and the Norfolk Jaycees .
She enjoyed rock music and trivia about it. Her passion was loving life and living life.
Mary is survived by her siblings, Correen “Corkie” Ritterbush, of Norfolk, and William “Bill” and Melanie Banks, of O’Neill; her nieces, Stacy and Kurt Maier, of Tea, SD, Regina and Bill Pedersen, Norfolk, Andrea Banks and John Hansen, Page, NE; nephew, Ian Banks, of O’Neill; great nieces and nephews, Jaden Maier, Jaylie Maier and Mia Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one great niece, Grace.
