Mary B. Crum, 89 years, of rural Virginia, IL died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown, IL.
She was born February 21, 1919 in Cass County, IL; the daughter of William C. and Eula B. Wise Blohm. She married Woods M. Crum on November 1, 1959 in Beardstown, IL and he survives.
She is also survived by a sister, Beatrice A. Coats of Beardstown; a brother, John W. Blohm (wife, Sandy) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Kramer.
A 1938 graduate of Beardstown High School, Mrs. Crum worked as a bookkeeper for CIPS before joining the City Clerkâ??s office at Beardstown City Hall. She later was employed at Modern Chevrolet in Beardstown for 25 years prior to her retirement. A long time member of the Virginia United Methodist Church, she served on the building committee for the new church and was a member of United Methodist Women. She was a member of Cass County Home Extension, the Household Science Club, and the former Beardstown Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member and past Worthy Matron of the Adah Robinson Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
