Mary Anne Lytle, age 93 of Algona, passed away on October 1, 2019 at the Algona Good Samaritan Care Center. Mary Anne Amunson, the daughter of Albert and Lucile (Reynolds) Amunson, was born on March 28, 1926 in Ellsworth, Iowa. She graduated from Algona High School in 1943. Mary Anne then received a BA degree in Biology from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA She then obtained a Medical Technology degree at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Mary Anne had worked in Kansas City, Dallas and Fort Dodge before marriage. On December 30, 1955 she was united in marriage with James K. Lytle in Algona. Mary Anne then worked at St. Ann’s Hospital and with Dr. Rooney in Algona. Mary Anne was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Algona where she was baptized and confirmed. She also was involved with the church choir and taught Sunday school. She had also been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, of which she was a Past Regent. In her earlier years, Mary Anne enjoyed swimming, tennis, golf wood carving and bowling. She also enjoyed reading and playing bridge. Left to cherish Mary Anne’s memory is her son, Kurt Lytle of Mt. Juliet, TN; and three granddaughters, Kristen Lytle, MD and Rachel Lytle both of Nashville, TN and Nicole Lytle of Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Amunson.
