WEST NEWBURY – Mary Ann Tropeano, 88, of West Newbury, formerly of Reading and Andover, died early Sunday morning, February 24, 2019, in the serene surroundings of the High Pointe Hospice House, with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late James A. Tropeano for 66 years.
As a young girl, Mary Ann worked at “the bakery” in Wakefield, MA, where she met the love of her life, Jim. Mary Ann loved to cook, bake and do embroidery, but her greatest love in life was her family. Her love story began on September 2, 1951, when she married the love of her life, Jim, which created a long, wonderful and blessed life. Mary Ann was a devoted, loving wife and mother, who was very proud of her family and loved her husband of 66 years, 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren unconditionally. She beamed at holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.
Mary Ann was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Her loving and pure heart will forever be treasured by her 6 children, Susan Coleman and husband Craig of Florida, James A. Tropeano, Jr. of California, Mark Vincent Tropeano and wife Barbara of California, daughter Louisa Tanner-Watkins and husband Jack Watkins of West Newbury, Nancy Emberley and husband Bruce of Florida, and her “baby”, Mary Stabile and fiancé Dale Rogers of Haverhill. Mary Ann will also be remembered and missed by her adored 14 grandchildren, the late Jimmie Tropeano, Jr, Angela, Chris, Marc, T.J., Dailyn, Bruce, Mary Ann, David, Elena, John, Samii, Becca, and Anika. She is also survived by her 11 great-grandchildren; her brother Donald Bella and the late Joseph Bella. Born in Reading, July 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Bella and Mary (Amirault) DeVeau.
