Mary Ann was born August 8, 1940 in Shamokin, PA to Edward T Haleman Sr and Mary Haleman (nee Hleva); “Mare” lived her early childhood in Mt. Carmel Pa before moving to Bristol Pa. She graduated from Del Haas High School in Bristol before completing her BSN at St Francis School of Nursing in Trenton, NJ.
Mary Ann worked as an RN for most of her life in the field of urology before going to work for New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance as a claims adjuster in Personal Injury. Following retirement, Mary Ann spent the next 30 years travelling with her beloved John, throughout the country by land and sea. She loved her immediate family, the Haleman, Taylor, and VandVelt families more than anything. She often boasted how she cared for her younger brother, Edward, and kept him safe through life, but knew in later years, it was him who was keeping her in “dad’s good graces”.
Being incredibly proud of her sons, Len Jr and Chris, she loved holiday meals with her boys and her “kids”, which included her daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Maryann is pre-deceased by her parents, Edward Sr and Mary Haleman; her sister, Barbara Furphy; her granddaughter, Madison Taylor; her aunt and uncle, Faith and Gerald Mullen; and her “Johnny”, John VandVelt. She is survived by her brother, Edward Haleman (Roxanne) of Newtown, Pa; Sons, Leonard Jr (Christine) of Burlington and Christian (Kari) of Cinnaminson; Grandchildren Bryan, Cassady, Daniel, Josh, and Luke; numerous nieces, nephews, the VandVelt family (Margeret/Tom, Linda, and Owen), and the numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
