Mary Ann Sabol, 95, mother of 9, passed surround by family Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She was born May 21, 1926, in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late Lambert and Caroline (Lahrman) Stock. Mary Ann was a devote Catholic whose passions included raising her children and playing with her grandchildren.
Mary Ann graduated from St. Francis High School in 1944 and on June 13, 1946 she married John S. Sabol at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2007.
She was a life member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Mary Ann was a member of the St. Lawrence Alter and Aide Society, the Cinderella Doll Club and the Depression Glass Club.
She enjoyed garage sales, fleas markets, and crocheting. Mary Ann was an outstanding seamstress and also enjoyed collecting and dealing in antiques, dolls and collectibles.
Surviving are her children John “Jack” S. (Cheryl) Sabol, Jr. of Sanford, MI, Janet (Robert) Baker of Virginia Beach, VA, Donna (Steve) Nickel of Livonia, MI, Carol (Richard) Bailey of Lafayette, Nancy (Dennis) Edwards of West Lafayette, Greg (Roseann) Sabol of Mountain Home, ID, Margaret “Peggy” Lazorchak of Indianapolis, Patricia “Patty” (Bernard) Scheetz of Lafayette, 40 grandchildren, 49 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her son-in-law Alson Caswell of Heuvelton, NY.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Ann Caswell, siblings Josephine Stauffer, Elizabeth Hill, Leo Albin Stock, Audrey Spencer, Vincent Stock, Helen Yanner, Lambert Stock Jr., Cyril Stock, and Lois Boyce.
