Mary Alice, known to some as “Tina” and to others as “Rella”, was born in Eufaula, Alabama, to the late Rosa Wright Byrd and WC White.

She attended TV McCoo and later began working as a presser at Wear Well Manufacturing. She retired in 2014, from Wallace Community College Sparks Campus after serving many years.

She was a spectacular cook preparing delicious meals and catering events for her family and friends. Among her specialties were banana pudding and potato salad. She also enjoyed traveling, entertaining, and making people laugh.

She leaves to cherish her memories; four beautiful, loving daughters: Debra Rashelle Merrill (Rook, who preceded her in death) of Ellenwood, GA, Sharon Renea Wright, Kimberly (John) Lawson and Leslie Wright of Eufaula, AL; five grandchildren, Denzel Rashad Merrill of Stockbridge, GA, Brittany (Xavier) Crews, Duluth, GA, Mya Adams, Jordan Lawson, and Zoe Morris of Eufaula, Alabama; a god granddaughter, Domeneque Harris of McDonough, GA and a god grandson, Kaleb Wheeler, of Eufaula, AL; three sisters, Margaret (Tony) Glover, of Ellenwood, GA, Denise Banton, of Lithonia, GA, and Barbara (Lance)Williamson of Springhill, FL; three brothers, George (Louise) White of Clayton, AL, Henry Lee (Rose Marie) Wright, of Eufaula, AL, Glenn Thomas, of Stockbridge, GA. She was known as “Aunt Tina” to Moneake (Quantez) Dunn, Kenyatta Wright, Sheneake (William) Geter, Katrina Wright, Paul Banton, and Kyle Williamson. She also leaves two special friends, Ruthie Williams and Jolene Morris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
