Mary Konneker, 55, went home to meet her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2016. The youngest of 4 children born to the late John and Betty Konneker in Los Angeles. Miss Konneker was one of the first engineers at Amtrak. She lived many years in Carbondale, Illinois working for Amtrak for over 20 years. It saddened her to have to give up the career she so loved and desired. Survived by her sisters Eileen Konneker Catoire and Cecelia Konneker Gele’. Niece Regina Gele’ Bowen, nephews Richard Gele’ Jr., Mark LeJeune, and Jason LeJeune. Great niece Kayla Bowen and Mya LeJuene ( God Child), great nephews Richard Gele’ III, Blake Bowen, Bryson Bowen, Auston LeJuene (God child) and Kai LeJeune. Preceded in death by her brother Johnny Konneker.
