Mary Alice Hon passed away on May 25th 2021 at 77 years old due to complications of pancreatic cancer.
Mary was born to Arden H. Mead and Margaret J. Jones on May 15th 1944. She grew up in Des Moines Iowa and attended Johnston high school and also attended Valley High school where she graduated. After graduating Mary settled down becoming a loving wife and mother of two children. She worked and retired from Phillips 66 gas station, she also worked for the Des Moines Public School district as a lunch lady. Mary enjoyed making her famous cakes in her spare time. She made cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversary’s, baseball games and church. Mary was involved in the choir at First Federated.
Mary married Larry Hon on September 7th 1962. Together they had two children Margaret A. Hon and Marvin W. Hon. She had 6 Grandchildren; Chelsie Caroll, Crissie (Jed) Heldenbrand, Sara Hon, Brooklynn (Emma) Jayne, Joseanne Braunschwieg and Nathan Jayne. Mary had 14 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she loved all dearly. Mary was a very kind, big hearted woman who will be missed by many.
Mary is proceeded in death by her Father, Mother, two Sisters, her husband Larry, daughter Margaret and Granddaughter Joseanne.
Mary and Larry spent a life time loving each other and making the most of life, now they are spending an eternity together reunited and watching over us all.
