Mary Lowe Adams, 68, passed away suddenly on Sunday January 2, 2022 at Newnan hospital with her husband and daughters surrounding her with love. She was the youngest of her siblings, born October 20, 1953, in Hinesville, Ga. She was also very small so she received the nickname “Bitsy” known to all her family and close friends. The family moved to Homestead, Fl in 1964 where she attended elementary, middle, and then graduated from South Dade High School. In 1972, Mary met her future husband, Mike while he was in the USAF. She was cleaning horse stalls barefoot when they met, which created many jokes in their life. They were friends for 50 years, and were happily married for 49 years. She was the pack leader for the family and all the pets in the household. After a brief move to St. Louis, they moved back to Homestead in 1973, and in a few years to Naples, Fl. for 11 more years where her twin daughters, Heather and Leslie were born. In 1987 the family moved to Pace, Fl. just outside Pensacola. This would remain her home for 32 more years until relocating to Newnan to be near her daughters again. From the beginning she had an affinity for animals, especially horses and dogs. She had the ability to settle excited horses, and get dogs that were afraid or hesitant to trust her and calm down. She had patience that was boundless, as her family can attest. In her childhood and early teens, she avidly attended to her horses or any others with a zest and vigor for even the most menial stall cleanings. As an adult, after her own horses were gone, she maintained her interest and association with equines by volunteering at the Panhandle Equine Rescue just outside of Pensacola. At least every other day, and usually more, she would drive to the farm just to clean stalls and care for or groom the horses. She maintained this until she and Mike moved to Newnan. While living in Pace with her family for those 32 years, Mary worked at Fisher-Brown Insurance in Pensacola for 26 years in the accounting department, making sure that the finances she handled were correctly applied for customers and the agency. She retired in 2014 so they could travel and enjoy life together. Mary also loved to travel, and taking cruises was one of her favorite ways to get out and see different places. Her favorite places were the Caribbean, and Alaska. Unfortunately, she left this life before getting her wish to see England and Hawaii. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Rudine Lowe, and brothers Jimmy and Danny. Left to remember her love and patience are her husband, Mike, twin daughters, Heather and Leslie, granddaughter Bridgette, grandson, Robert, and sister Sunni Freeman. Many cousins, nephews and nieces remember their aunt “Bitsy”.
