Ms. Mary Ada Small, age 94, of Pittsboro, NC, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Sanford, NC.
One of these days I’m going home to get my reward, if I work hard I know I’ll get my pay.
Mary Ada Small, 94, lived a life working for the Lord and now will get her rest.
Mary Ada was born April 7, 1929, to Ellison and Martha Singletary Small in Durham, North Carolina.
She attended Hillside Elementary School and received her GED in New York.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Frances Johnson, Rev. Rebecca Gaul, and her brother, Richard Oliver.
Mary Ada was blessed with three children who also preceded her death, Samuel, Jannie, and Gregory.
The legacy she leaves behind will not be forgotten as it lives on in her three grandchildren, Terry Lee(Yolanda), Andrea Smalls(Leisa), Christopher Smalls; five great-grandchildren, Dejone Lee, Jamonte Bethea, Tiera Hill, Jayla Bethea, and Tavon Lee; three great great grandchildren, Jamari Clayton, Jay’siah Lewis, and Ja’miya Bethea; nieces, nephews, cousins and one special son, Robert McLeod.
Mary joined Taylors Chapel Church after moving from Durham where she was a faithful member and Mother of the church where she praised the Lord in spirit and in truth, shouting up and down her favorite pew. Her heart belonged to God. She will be missed.
When her health began to decline her care was performed by David and Dale Ellerby and Samatha Goldston. We would like to thank Monica Gunter, Regina Palmer, Selena Burt, Amy Ramsey and Christy Minter for helping Ms. Mary during her sickness at home.
