Mary A. Sullivan, 80, of 550 E. Carl Sandburg Dr, Galesburg, died at 12:39 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Cottage Hospital. Mary was born on December 27, 1929, in Abingdon, the daughter of Joseph K. and Mary E. (Peake) Masterson.
She married Eugene J. Sullivan, III on September 16, 1950, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2004.
Mary is survived by her 3 sons, Eugene J. (and Susan) Sullivan, IV of Galesburg, Kevin (and Maureen) Sullivan of Golden, CO, and Patrick (and Kimberley) Sullivan of Ellisville, MO; her 3 daughters, Kelly (and Linus) VanderWyst of Galesburg, Shannon (and Daniel) Fish of Dixon, and Erin (and Terry) Shelley of Danville, IN; and her 2 sisters, Marjorie Cecil and Marie Peterson both of Baytown, TX. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister. Mary graduated from Corpus Christi High School.
She was Assistant Manager at Kerasotes Theatres in Galesburg for many years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Mary will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.
