Mary A. Nelson, 74
Okeechobee – Mary A. Nelson died October 11, 2021. She was born June 13, 1947, in Jacksonville. She was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Okeechobee. Beginning in the late 1970s she wrote the Christmas play for the church every year, she taught Sunday School and youth group and loved to serve in many areas at her church.
Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Frank Ariail and Margaret Ariail; sister, Edna Sparks; and grandson, Caleb Austin Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, Walter S. Nelson, of Okeechobee; sons, Scott Nelson (Candi), of Okeechobee, and Billy Nelson (Kim), of Fernandina; special niece Mary called her daughter, Lisa Mullins (Charley) and their sons, Mack and Andrew; seven grandchildren, Justin (Erin), Tyler, Jakob, Savanna (Nick), Bryce, Brady, and Caleb; and one great-grandson, Ryker Nelson.
