Huff, Mary A. “Gussie” of Saginaw, Michigan formerly of Caseville
Beloved sister and aunt passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Covenant Cooper with her family by her side. She was 66 years old. Mary Alice Huff born on April 26, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Edward Stuart and Josephine Verena (Franzel) Huff. She attended both Ricker Elementary and Junior High School. Mary was a proud 1969 graduate of Buena Vista High School. Throughout her Junior High and High School years, she was 1st chair trumpet in the concert and marching band. Mary was a protégé of The Honsinger Conservatory Band, where she was able to meet Doc Severinsen. In high school, she worked for both the Big Boy Restaurant on Holland Avenue and State Street. While working at the State Street location, Mary created a computer order system from table to kitchen. She was the owner and operator of a catering business in Caseville with her longtime friend, Dee Wize. Mary also worked for many restaurants and pizzerias in Caseville. She also owned and operated Ma Ma Dee’s Restaurant in Bay Port. In 2014, Mary made her home at South Colony Place where she became actively involved with the Ambassador Club, the Fall Bazaar, playing and calling Bingo, playing cards and once a month she held a household Bingo. She also enjoyed fishing, going out to dinner, watching wrestling on TV and playing the slots at the casino. Mary was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She was selfless and would listen to anyone, as a gesture, she had an open door anytime she was home.
Surviving are four sisters: Sharon Krukowski, Rose Houser, Linda Hoffman, and Lorraine (Kruska) Huff. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Michael E., Kim A. and Tim J. Huff; brothers-in-law: James Houser, Jack Hoffman, James Krukowski, Sr.; nieces: Charity Joy Houser and Lynne Marie Perry.
