Marvin J. Morrison died on Saturday, June 24 in Colorado Springs after a battle with lung cancer. Marvin was born June 27, 1935 in Lawton, Oklahoma; his parents were John and Vinnie Lee (Mooney) Morrison. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn (Rogers) Morrison, a son, Blake Morrison (John-Michael May), and a daughter, Christen Tuxworth (Jeff), sisters, Marcene Morrison Primrose (Turner) and Marilyn Morrison Keller (Jim), and numerous nieces and nephews. He grew up in Norman, Oklahoma where he graduated from University of Oklahoma with a degree in Petroleum Engineering as a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was an avid Sooners fan his whole life.
He began his career working with his father in the grocery business and later worked in the mortgage brokerage field after he and Carolyn moved to Colorado Springs in 1981. He retired in 2010. As a member of the Norman Junior Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations he was very active in civic affairs. Family and friends were always the highlight of his activities.
